Window treatments

Custom drapery, hardware and shades — measured, supplied and installed

The same measuring, the same walls, the same care as the art. It made no sense to send someone else.

Full-length linen drapery on black iron rods across double-height windows and a sliding door, installed by Aero Luxe

Drapery is an installation problem before it is a decorating one. The bracket has to land in something solid, the rod has to be level across a wall that rarely is, and the return has to clear a window casing that was built by hand.

We measure on site, supply custom drapery and hardware, and install it: hand-sewn panels, roman shades, motorised roller shades, sheers, and the rods, tracks and brackets that carry them. Where a designer or workroom has already specified the treatment, we measure for it and install it as drawn.

On projects where we are already placing art, the windows are handled in the same visit.

How it works

Measured, supplied, installed
01On-site measuringEvery window measured in the room itself, with the casings, sills and floor levels as they actually are rather than as drawn. Numbers in writing before anything is ordered.
02Custom drapery & hardwarePanels, shades, rods, tracks and brackets supplied to your specification — or to ours, if the room is still being decided.
03InstallationAnchored into what is genuinely behind the finish, level across walls that rarely are, and hung so the fabric falls the way it was made to.

What we install

Supplied by us, or by your workroom
Drapery & hardwareRods, rings, brackets, returns and finials, including heavy iron and long single spans that need centre support.
Roman & roller shadesInside and outside mount, with the headrail set so the shade hangs clean of casings and stone sills.
MotorisationBattery and hardwired motors mounted, paired and set. Wiring by your electrician; we coordinate the rough-in.
Ceiling & recessed tracksConcealed tracks in plaster pockets and millwork, set before the pocket is closed where possible.
On-site measuringWe measure before anything is ordered, and the numbers go to you in writing. A workroom quoting from our measurements is a workroom that gets it right once.
SupplyCustom drapery, shades and hardware can be supplied through us, or we install what you and your designer have already specified. Either way it is measured by the person installing it.
SubstratesPlaster, lath, steel studs, stone surrounds and millwork all take different anchors. We establish what is behind the finish before we drill, as with everything else.
MotorisationBattery and hardwired motors mounted, paired and set. Wiring stays with your electrician; we coordinate around the rough-in.
