If yours is not here, call or text. We would rather answer it in a minute than have you guess.
Artwork of every kind, mirrors, sculpture and objects, decor and shelving — and window treatments, which we also measure and supply. If it goes on a wall or a ceiling, it is our work.
Often, yes. Send a photograph of the piece, its approximate size and weight, and a photograph of the wall with something for scale. For anything heavy, unusual, or going into stone or plaster, we will want to see it in person.
Every project is quoted individually, in writing, once we know the pieces and the walls. Number of works, weight, substrate and access all move the number, so we would rather look before we give you one.
It depends on the season and the size of the project. If a delivery, a move-in or a photography date is driving your schedule, tell us early and we will work to it.
Constantly, and with galleries and art advisors. We install to your drawings, keep to your schedule, and conduct ourselves in a finished house the way you would want. For designers
A handful of pieces is usually a half day. A full collection across several floors can run several days. We will tell you which days matter and when you need to be there.
For the first part of the visit, ideally, so placement can be confirmed with you. After that you are welcome to leave us to it. If you cannot be there at all, we photograph each position and wait for your reply before drilling.
Yes, and it is the part of the job we care most about. We compose the wall at full size before anything is drilled, and we are glad to offer a view on scale, height and sequence — while respecting the design already in place.
Yes. Crates and packing are opened in the house, broken down and taken with us. Nothing is left in the garage for someone else to deal with.
Yes, typically alongside the art in the same room. Mounting and concealment are ours; anything electrical stays with your electrician, and we coordinate around them.
Every fixing leaves a hole, but we place them where the hardware covers them and we patch anything we remove. In plaster and lath we test first. If a piece is going into stone or tile, we will tell you what it involves and then do it properly.
Yes, along with lath, tile, board-formed concrete, stone and millwork. Each takes different hardware, and establishing what is genuinely behind the finish is the first thing we do.
Weight is a question of the anchor, not the hook. Heavy work goes onto a French cleat or a mounting plate fixed into structure, and we will say so plainly if a wall cannot carry what you want on it.
Anything substantial goes on a cleat rather than hooks, and museum wax or security hardware is used on pieces that would be dangerous if they moved. On the West Coast we consider it whether or not it is raised.
Yes. Cleats, security hangers, wire, plates and the anchors suited to your particular wall all come with us. You are never sent to a hardware store.
We position work with the lighting in mind and will tell you where a fixture wants to move, but we do not do electrical work. We are glad to coordinate with your electrician.
We carry general liability insurance, and certificates naming your building or firm are issued on request. In practice, care is what prevents it: pieces are handled one at a time, floors and finishes are protected, and nothing is rushed.
Yes — between residences, to and from storage, and to and from galleries. Tell us what is moving and where, and we will handle the collection, the transport and the placement at the other end.
Yes. We de-install and store safely, then re-hang once the walls are finished — usually back to the same positions, unless the room has changed and you would like it reconsidered.
Yes. On-site measuring, custom drapery, hardware and shades supplied through us, and installation — including motorised systems. Window treatments
Yes. Returning clients are much of our work: a new purchase, a repaint, a move. A second visit is usually faster than the first.
Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Montecito and Santa Barbara. We will consider work elsewhere in California and out of state for larger projects — message us directly and we will tell you honestly whether it makes sense.
