Services

Everything the work needs, from the crate to the wall

Six services, taken singly or as one continuous project. Most rooms need three or four.

01Placement consultingWalkthrough, layouts and gallery walls. Heights, spacing and sightlines decided before anything is drilled. 02Handling & transportCollection, uncrating and condition photographs on site. We drive it ourselves in a padded vehicle. 03Custom mountingCleats, museum rails, security and seismic hardware, specified to the work and to plaster, stone or concrete. 04Deinstall & reinstallFor a move, a renovation or a loan. Wrapped, inventoried, walls patched, and rehung when the room is ready. 05Mirrors & objectsHeavy mirrors, sculpture and plinths, shelf objects and wall lights — the last pass that makes a room read as finished. 06Designers & galleriesBlocking specified before walls close, coordination with your GC, and client delivery a gallery can hand over without worry.

Placement consulting

Where it goes, and why. We walk the rooms with the work in hand and read the architecture first: proportion, sightlines, the height a piece wants to sit at, and how two things on the same wall sit together.

Daylight and lamp position are part of it, and so is how the room is used. A wall that takes hard afternoon sun, or a piece that falls into shadow once the lamps are on, changes what should hang there.

Handling, transport & uncrating

Collection from the gallery, the fair, the framer or storage, and delivery in our own padded vehicle.

On site we uncrate in a protected area, inspect and photograph condition before anything moves, and carry the packing away with us the same day. If the walls are not ready, tell us and we will arrange the safest place for the work to wait.

Custom mounting

French cleats, security hardware, museum rails and heavy-duty anchors, selected against the weight, size and frame of the work and the wall it is going into.

Plaster, lath, stone, tile, board-formed concrete and millwork each take hardware differently. We check what is behind the surface before we drill.

Deinstall & reinstall

For a move, a renovation, a paint job or a loan. Work comes down, is wrapped and inventoried, and goes back up — either exactly where it was or somewhere better, in a house that has since changed shape.

Walls are patched where hardware came out. Collections that travel between two or three homes get a record we keep, so the next move starts from a plan rather than a photograph.

05

Mirrors, decor & final placement

Heavy mirrors, sculpture on plinths, shelf objects, wall lights and the hundred small things that decide whether a finished room looks finished.

This is usually the last day on site. Everything is levelled, cleaned, and adjusted with the lamps on, and we leave once you have seen it that way.

06

Designers & galleries

Site coordination with your GC and trades, blocking specified before the walls close, art held until the paint is cured, and installation scheduled around the punch list rather than through it.

For galleries: client delivery that needs a specialist, approvals photographed on the wall, and a crew your buyer will be glad you sent.

How it goes

01A conversationWhat the work is, where it is now, and when the room is ready. Photographs are enough to start.
02Substrate & hardwareWalls, weights and hardware are worked out on install day, or beforehand at a site visit if a quote is needed in advance.
03Install dayFloors protected, positions confirmed with you, and the work levelled and secured to the heights agreed.
04Review togetherWe look at the rooms with you before we leave. A piece often reads differently once it is up, and adjustments are made there and then.
